Embargo (2014 Stereo 10 minutes)
Using a sophisticated process of recording, Lurf inspects the terrain and, at the same time, evokes the power of these images. In his newest film, EMBARGO, he deals with the Austrian armaments industry or, more accurately, the visibility of this sector. The position of the filmmaker in relation to the subject can be deduced from the title. The soundtrack composed for EMBARGO was produced by Jung an Tagen.

Twelve Tales Told (2014 Stereo 4 minutes)
Johann Lurf’s maximalist barrage of Hollywood studio logos, transforms the iconic corporate prelude to the big production-to-come into a sustained, stuttering spectacle in which fractured and fantastical worlds collide into a bombastic anti-climax. Like a riff on Jack Goldstein’s looping Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1975, Twelve Tales Told has an aggressive musicality.
